The way Microsoft informed me that I ought to re-validate my Windows was to tell me that my Windows was not genuine. Putting two and two and three together, I understand that what actually happened is that the new validation process checks things that may not have been checked when I validated the first time. In other words, your Windows may be genuine but we have a more complete test for this and would like to run it. Not ‘Your Windows is bogus’.
One of the things that is wrong with Windows is its error messages. They can be quite useless. This one at least wasn’t useless.
