Plan B

I want to know whether the Republicans have done the sensible thing and started to devise Plan B. In other words, have they started searching for substitute candidates for the Executive Branch, in case their current candidates become too preoccupied with avoiding prison or execution under the War Crimes Act, prison for blowing Valerie Wilson's cover, prison for fraud and bribery, etc.?

Word on the street says Republicans have begun a Plan B in case Tom DeLay comes under indictment for his comparatively mild alleged crimes, but that's just to prepare another marionette besides Denny Hastert. With Bush and Cheney we are talking about the "real thing". I'd have started devising Plan B months ago, if I had the bad taste to be a leading Republican.
