Clinton vs. Gore

http://talkleft.com/new_archives/013734.html

Arianna writes that yesterday's speeches by Al Gore and Hillary Clinton, both of which criticized the Bush Administration, are like coming attractions to the 2008 Democratic presidiential nomination.

Boy, I'd have no trouble making a choice there, I'd choose Al Gore, who is shaming the Bushists. Heck, even if he's not a liberal, and even if I didn't iksnay the ackassjay, we need someone who understands the Global Warming doom we are facing. Gore literally wrote the book on that stuff (though admittedly I didn't read it).

This may sound odd, but try some Les Miserable. I know, I know, old French people aren't your style. But trust me, you'll be surprised. Don't try the unabridged version... totally not worth it. Be the Master of the House. If you want something more modern, try something like Butterfield 8, it's fantastic. Nothing like Les Mis... but what is really?

In case it matters, the most recent confirmed lahar is about 500 years ago, but there were mixed reports of eruptions in the late 1800s.

Pretty low until you jinxed them.

What would you estimate the odds to be of it happening in the next 200 years?

Thinking about it further, I think I now understand. You're saying the WSJ is being antisemitic, not the people they're quoting.

I don't think they'd listen to it coming from us, but a…

I'm not noticing it either. Seems to me they *are* being assholes to Jews, but only moreso than anybody else if we happen to be in the way. I think that's gneral-purpose assholery, not…
