Apollo 4 on column of fire

Astounding cluelessness

When the mass federal prosecutor firing without Senate confirmation of new appointees went down, I pondered, ‘WTF, that’s going to attract attention, isn’t this kind of dumb?’ But this morning or at some such time I learned of a memo in which the no-Senate-confirmation method was recommended for its unlikeliness to attract attention.

Perhaps here we have someone who just can’t imagine the goings-on in other people’s heads, or who still believes in his gut that treacherous partisans control Congress.

I now rate the mass prosecutor firing as the scandal most likely to provoke the impeachment of George W. Bush.
