Apollo 4 on column of fire

What’s he talking about?

I’m listening to the Sept. 5 podcast of the Thom Hartmann program, and he’s saying all these terrible things about high fructose corn syrup, and referring to it as a ‘chemical’ not occurring in nature, while at the same time suggesting that cane sugar and plain corn syrup are okay.

Well, I say, it’s not really good for you to eat a heck of a lot of any of these things. But from what I know of it, high fructose corn syrup may be heavily processed but the result is a mixture of glucose and fructose. Ordinary corn syrup is glucose, and cane sugar decomposes into glucose and fructose. Any one of these may be worse for you than the others, I don’t know. Maybe HFCS is pure poison, who am I to say? I’m suspicious whenever something increases the shelf life of ‘foods’. But what is this about HFCS being some kind of alien ‘chemical’? At least let’s be clear on what we are talking about.

White House squatters openly root for Osama

Unbelievable, in the rhetorical sense:

The White House said any new video from bin Laden would serve to highlight threats the West faces.

This is openly rooting for Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda. I’m serious. Any actual President, even Ronald Reagan or the real George Bush, even Richard Nixon, would tell us to pay no attention to Osama’s propaganda.

If Osama weren’t already dead or captured, of course.
