Apollo 4 on column of fire

An open letter to Mike Malloy

Hi, Mike.

With all the talk on radio about a ‘national service’ program for
young people, I thought you might like to know about my plan.

Here is how mine works: When a young person graduates from high
school, the government gives him or her tuition and expenses. In
exchange for this, the young person serves the nation by going to a
public university.

I hope you like it. I think it is a much better plan than any I've
heard on radio.

My guess about the nuclear weapons flown from Minot to Barksdale

Okay, nukes flown across the country. You’ve got people like Larry Johnson going around doubting that this was an accident, and citing as support that there are so many stages at which an accident could have been prevented. I cite the same as evidence that it was an accident. It is a known phenomenon, which people tend to neglect, that if you have two inspectors they are less effective than one inspector, because each figures the other will catch his or her mistakes. From what I’ve heard out of people like Larry Johnson, the system was set up even worse than that, with, let’s say, five or six inspectors, each assuming the others will catch his or her mistakes.

On-line hosting problem apparently solved

Comcast announces they are increasing personal homepage space, by degrees, from 25 meg per e-mail address to 1 gig per e-mail address.

I wonder if that includes a price increase, although actually it’s a change that probably will save them money.

I had been thinking of dealing with my Crud Factory hosting issues by, at least in part, squatting on more Comcast e-mail addresses and spreading items out across them.
