Apollo 4 on column of fire

Adobe Reader on GNU/Linux and Windows

I did one of my rare boots into MS Windows, to update my Comcastical copy of McAfee security stuff, and while there tried looking at http://crudfactory.home.comcast.net/ParadiseLost.pdf in Adobe Reader 8. The doc looked nowhere near as good as it does in my usual environment running the GNU/Linux version of Adobe Reader 7.

I wonder if this is because I have done some fine tuning for X.org (X Windows) that I haven’t done for MS Windows. Is Windows not using subpixel rendering, for instance?
