Apollo 4 on column of fire

The astoundingly misleading Charlie Gibson

Charles "Professors Make 150K USD Salary" Gibson says that when you raise the capital gains tax then revenues go down. Thom Hartmann explains: Yes, revenue goes down for one year, because people sell a bunch of capital before the new rate goes into effect.

Randi in Florida

Randi Rhodes has been less uptight so far, since starting up again on Nova M. I think part of it is being back in West Palm and having Duffy and Johann and whoever in the studio with her.

I get the impression, from stuff she is saying, that AAR having her in New York had something to do with ‘format purity’. I suspect Randi wasn’t terribly reluctant to spend most of her time in New York, though, because she grew up mostly in Brooklyn and Queens.

Apparently lots of property available in her gated community, by the way, although you’ll have to buy new hurricane shutters, because the people losing their homes are scavenging the shutters to sell them, and only then dropping off their house keys at the bank.

Meanwhile, Mark Green is trying out his celebrity friends or Huffpo comrades, one by one, in Randi’s slot, rather than giving the job to Sam Seder or some other AAR insider. Thus doth Green ensure the loss of his core audience—and to think I ever thought this man was destined to be mayor of New York one day. I’m on the verge of canceling my AAR premium subscription. However, as I told Mike Malloy, I won't be impressed by Nova M until Sam has a show there; in other words, I'm holding my breath until Sam has a job or I pass out.
