I’ve noticed that it hasn’t sunk in with everyone (including, perhaps, the Clintons) that the name ‘Clinton’ won’t get you want, anymore—that the Dem. Party was a Clinton party, and that now it is not a Clinton party. It is an Obama party. Al Gore and John Kerry were too weak to become the face of the Democratic Party, and so the Clintons have had nearly 16 years as the face of the Democratic Party, and many people have gotten too used to that (including, perhaps, the Clintons). It’s over now; think ‘Democrat’ and the face that should pop into your imagination is not that of a Clinton, but that of Barack Obama. (Or Franklin Delano Roosevelt, if you prefer. :) )
I sure hope that Hillary Clinton doesn’t show up wearing a dynamite-laden belt.
Who will be the running mates?
For Obama, Wes Clark seems to want and maybe expect Kathleen Sebelius. Jimmy Carter wants Sam Nunn, but Sam Nunn will be 70 years old by November, so I don't think so. I have predicted Joe Biden, but I’m not confident about that (nor do I personally favor Biden as a VP). But what do you think?
For John McCain? Perhaps he can put Satan on the ticket to dilute the ticket’s evilness. What do you think?
I just made a small contribution to the DNC to reward them for adopting Obama's donor rules.
I find John McCain’s personality to be strongly galvanizing: it is like zinc. Mounds and mounds of zinc, waiting to coat buckets so they may rust more slowly.
