Apollo 4 on column of fire

Concerning 17-point poll swings

See http://www.first-draft.com/2008/09/todays-word-is.html

My high school bio teacher didn’t like me, because I was a clown. Naturally he got quite red-faced when, in his demonstration of ‘randomness’ (which probably doesn’t exist as he understood it), he had us all spin quarters, and I got 75 heads and 25 tails. I got them fair and square. Maybe that quarter was heavier on the heads side (which, I believe, makes heads more likely in a quarter-spin), maybe there was some chiseling on the edge, maybe I always started with the quarter oriented in some way—whatever, I don’t know.

Hartmann today

Today Hartmann starts his show by claiming ‘They are right on the edge of blowing it’. So I kicked him out of the foxhole, before he could get in another complete sentence. Maybe I’ll play some music, instead.
