Apollo 4 on column of fire

Coleman has lost Scarborough

Apparently this morning MSNBC’s token right-winger, Joe Scarborough, called for Norm Coleman to give it up, that he lost, and that continuing would be unfair to Senator Franken’s constituents (me, et al.).

When I think of Norm Coleman, I hear crickets chirping.

Annals of Duh, part 2

It seems that Faux News’s Sean Hannity read a news article that stated the president’s approval was required for the shooting of those pirates, but to Hannity (who has a reputation for ‘stupidity’) this article meant that President Obama was required by law to approve the shooting and so had no real role in the matter.

I was going to laugh at this until I remembered how many of my fellow lefties – Thom Hartmann, for instance – thought that the constitutional clause making impeachments exempt from presidential pardon meant that if Bush were being impeached then he could not issue pardons.

I do admit to listening to this latter misunderstanding without thinking about it very much, except to figure ‘What? Why would they put that in the Constitution?’, until one day Hartmann had Dennis Kucinich as guest, and Dennis Kucinich understood English. :)
