Apollo 4 on column of fire

No surprise

Jon Elliot’s San Diego radio show attempt at San Diego 1700 has failed; next week is his last. They are being very nice and giving him a week to wind down the show.

There is no surprise. He never did put on a San Diego show, but instead took his Air America show and pretended it was a San Diego show. He even kept his Friday Night Forum of guys from around the country who had been frequent callers – none of them from San Diego, in fact. So, he was trying to take his Air America program and sell advertising and podcast subscriptions for a San Diego market – the problem is apparent, is it not?

The last straw

This has me pretty much now happy to see any healthcare bill that is satisfactory to President Obama as satisfactory also to me: http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2009/09/pawlenty-its-a-viable-option-to-invoke-state-sovereignty-keep-minnesota-out-of-health-care-reform.php

This is in freaking Minnesota. My jaw hit the floor.

Let’s let the Republicans recover from their stress. We’ve already driven them half mad simply by electing an African-American liberal Democrat as president, and the president is only trying to get passed the healthcare plan that he campaigned on and which we voted for (even if we wanted more). People get better if you keep them under stress, but you don't want to tear them in two. If healthcare brings the nation to the point of collapse again, we can deal with that.

I am sick and tired of seeing people (always in the United States) write to ask_a_nurse and noting that they don't have insurance and want to avoid seeing a doctor. When Obama's bill gets passed, there are going to be a lot of people who will want to go see a doctor. Let them go, without risking more Murrah Building events.
