Apollo 4 on column of fire

And so it begins

/dev/sda surges into the imminent failure region! I’ve had a replacement drive for months, but the bad thing is that the inside of this computer scares the fingerprints off of my achy fingers and the already insufficient saliva out of my drug-inhibited glands. Otherwise I might already have done the replacement. I’m not sure I can do it, and wish mister_kat was here to help. It may be a job for the Geek Squad or someone like that, I don’t know; I don’t want to give up physical possession of the machine.

Resilience against failures is the main reason I got dual hard drives in the first place, though two of the same model risks having the same defect in both. My BIOS can boot off of /dev/sdb.
