Facts to remember about the Enabling Act

When Hitler got the Enabling Act ‘passed’, he first arrested the Communists, so they couldn’t vote at all, and filled the room with Nazi thugs on the day of the vote. What this suggests to me is that, even before the Enabling Act, Hitler had more openly despotic power than does Bush-Cheney so far. So let that help keep your spirits up, when you hear the new Torture and Disappearance Act likened ‘exactly’ to the Enabling Act.
