Normally I do not take seriously the predictions and theories of Buzzflash. Buzzflash is a good source of information, but when I want an analysis of the information I go elsewhere (such as Talking Points Memo). In this case, however, I have similar concerns.
Starting in 2001, George W. Bush has been gathering up human beings and storing them for indefinite durations, without giving them hearings, or even saying who was being stored and why. I stress that this storage is for indefinite durations, because I ask myself what is supposed to happen if these individuals remain in storage when George W. Bush hands the White House keys to his successor? I've been asking myself that ever since the roundups started. How can Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, etc., make plans to store human beings indefinitely unless they imagine themselves setting the policy indefinitely?
They have no plans in which they turn power over to a successor, such as John Kerry. At best, the Bush regime simply push aside such a consideration; they don't account for it in their schemes. Now they are facing not just possible loss of power, but possible arrest and trial for federal and international crimes, some of them extremely serious. What would you do, if you were Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, etc.?
