Water birds seen on my walk

On yesterday’s walk I saw the resident Green Heron preening itself, and got a better look at the newer resident heron-like bird and I think it is a Black-crowned Night Heron. I did not see the resident Great Egret and haven’t recently seen the at least formerly resident Great Blue Heron.

I also saw Mallards and Canada Geese, but they practically fall in your lap. Actually they’ll do that if you go to the right place and fill your lap with edibles, but I don’t recommend doing that, especially with the geese. :)

I’m not a bird-watcher, just someone who enjoys seeing herons and egrets.

That Green Heron, assuming it is the same one as when I was going for walks several years ago, and I think it is the same one, must be getting old.
