Music:What would you like? I can't really play, you know.
Jean-Luc Picard's little flute
I was browsing archives of the Chiff and Fipple tinwhistle forums, looking for some advice to help me play flute not too uncomfortably despite my fibromyalgia, and came upon an excellent photo, http://chiffboard.mati.ca/viewtopic.php?t=24516&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=33. I've tried it and it's the best thing so far and seems to work well with both D and G flute, and I think it will also work with Tony Dixon's high D convertible whistle/flute thingie.
I also saw there at http://chiffboard.mati.ca/viewtopic.php?t=24516&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=27 that Doug Tipple, the water pipe flute maker from whom I obtained a couple of flutes, comes "from a long line of people suffering from OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder)." Which is interesting, because OCD is an even bigger problem for me than is fibromyalgia; how far back the line goes, I don't know; at least two generations before mine, but after that I don't know.
