With the economy in the tank, President Bush’s approval ratings below 30 percent and Sen. John McCain’s (R-Ariz.) campaign floundering without a theme, Barack Obama is having the best last three weeks in media yet.
Sen. Obama (D-Ill.) stays at 46 percent over the last several weeks. McCain? Plus-four at 44 percent.
What does that tell you?
My answer: Despite all the recent headlines, Sen. Obama cannot afford to be confident — and he needs to reach out to expand his base.
My answer: Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) would still help him most as a vice presidential candidate.
