Some People Never Learn

You might think the U.S. attorneys scandal would be enough to make the White House steer clear of voter fraud bamboozlement in the very next election. You'd be wrong.

Yup, some people never learn; for instance David Kurtz seems not to have learned the following lesson from the attorney firings scandal: Bush can do whatever he wants, without suffering consequences. In essence, he has the complete support of the Democratic leadership in Congress, and of most of the Washington establishment, including most other Democrats.

It’s not such a difficult lesson to assimilate, is it? It’s why we are looking to charge Bush with murder under state laws rather than federal. At the federal level, indeed, Bush has already been given, by Congress, incredibly, retroactive immunity for war crimes for which he could have been sentenced to death.
