People who follow the vote-stealing topic may understand what I mean. Friedman represents ‘Yes, there is a whole lot of vote-stealing going on; it makes things harder, so go out there and vote!’ Palast represents ‘They are going to steal another one!!!!!! To have any chance at all you must take five paces forwards, fall back three small steps, shimmy for five seconds, shoulder roll to your right, do a break dance, then somersault backwards to dunk your ballot in the ballot box, or it won’t be counted!!!!!!!!!’
Shorter version: Friedman = ‘Go vote!’, Palast = ‘Your vote won’t be counted!’ And the latter sounds like he’s having fun when he says it, but maybe that’s just his style.
