BuzzFlash buffoonery

BuzzFlash: ‘In a reference to Republicans, Obama told a gathering of House of Representatives Democrats that his critics were offering "tired arguments" for economic solutions that emphasized tax cuts for well-off families. Obama said he valued "constructive criticism." "But what I have also said is, don't come to the table with the same tired arguments and worn ideas that helped to create this crisis," he added. Right on!’

Why did I post this as an example of buffoonery? Because of the fist-pumping ‘Right on!’ at the end. This reminds me of nothing more than Joe Lieberman in the movie theater, and next most it reminds me of the fist pumping ‘I feel great!’ (or whatever) that Bush is reputed to have done when he started dropping bombs. What’s really a very sad and regrettable situation is, to Mark Karlin over at BuzzFlash, a source of exhiliration and of a sense of power.

Even if one did have to steamroll an opposing party, it ought to feel really, really bad and induce anxiety about the consequences.
