Health care enthusiasm

I was just thinking about the complaint I occasionally hear that there isn’t enough grassroots enthusiasm for health insurance reform. It occurred to me that it could be in part that where people tend to be most conscious of health care they already have some protections thanks to state law. For instance, here in Minnesota, if you are turned down for individual insurance due to a pre-existing condition, you can buy (somewhat more expensively) risk-pool insurance.

(It’s like New Jersey car insurance, except not everybody ends up in the risk pool.)
