Dang ol' zsh!

For many years I have used zsh as my login shell, instead of the more commonly used bash. But now I use two languages, English and Esperanto, and zsh does not yet support UTF-8 encoding and it's non-trivial to add it (which frustrates the maintainers). Dang, dang, dang. So I may switch back to bash after all, or I may use Byron Rakitzis's rc shell with the readline interface.

Why there is no Gentoo ebuild for Rakitzis's rc is a mystery to me. Isn't somebody using it? Probably, except they never submitted the ebuild, eh? There does exist a Debian package, so I'll take a look at their patches. This is software that hasn't changed in a few years, so it's probably not extremely popular; otherwise someone would be piling features upon it (not that I object to that).

Dang, dang, dang!

UPDATE: The Debian patch looks like it's 'nothing', just the usual Debian cruft. Maybe I'll submit an ebuild after I write it, although I really don't want to get in the position of having to maintain something. That doesn't go well with my pain.
