Recently Brent Budowsky published a ‘Manifesto for Progressives’. I commented that writing a manifesto for progressives by himself took chutzpah, and that the manifesto was rejected, and that I wanted to know what was Plan B.
More recently Brent Budowsky published what he called ‘Plan B’. In Budowsky’s Plan B, this is what happens: Coakley loses the special election to Brown, and then a magical cloud decends upon the Democratic caucuses, who go into budget reconciliation and come out with ambrosia and nectar and everyone lives happily ever after.
I didn’t make any intelligent comment beneath the latter posting; I suppose I was stunned by it. What I should have said, though now maybe it is too late, is that Brent hadn’t yet understood what I mean by ‘Plan B’. Plan B, Brent, is where you don’t get what you want, and you have to adjust; the adjustment is Plan B. What is your Plan B?
