A different approach is needed for me. I’m going to try Pylons.
(The pages currently up are just the latest version of what I had at my ISP account; they are written as m4 scripts. I’ve moved to real hosting, and one effect is that now I have working webfonts again for my LJ, indeed with a ‘smart’ fontserver that caters the font format to the browser. Even works in IE (Idiot Exploiter), although that bizarre and horrible creation actually renders the fonts differently for me on different refreshes.)
